December 2014

Dear Friends for Life,

WVFL President Wanda Franz, Ph.D.

WVFL President
Wanda Franz, Ph.D.

It is my great joy to wish you a very Merry Christmas and all the blessings of the season. It is certainly a time to think of family and the excitement of children as we welcome the birth of our savior. Everyone in the pro-life movement can marvel at God’s wisdom in sending his son to us in the form of an embryo conceived in Mary’s womb to be born as a “little, tiny child.” May our love for Him be extended to all children in the wombs of their mothers. May they survive our culture of abortion to experience their own birth.

On January 22, 2015, we will be recognizing the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton, which invalidated the properly passed abortion laws in all 50 states and made, in all practicality, abortion on demand the law of the land. Pro-life supporters will, once again, gather in Washington, D.C. for the March for Life. A bus will be going from Morgantown for the March and a meeting with our Congressional delegation. Contact Chris/Donna Kolanko for more information at 304-282-0419/5756.

In January, the WV Legislative Session will begin, and we will continue our efforts to educate our legislators on the importance of passing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act to protect unborn babies from abortion after they can feel pain by at least 20 weeks in the womb. We will also continue to work on legislation to opt-out of abortion in the health care exchange here in West Virginia. We thank our lobbyist, John Carey, for his hard work in Charleston to pass this important life-saving legislation.

Please plan to attend the Rally for Life at the state Capitol in Charleston on Wednesday, February 11, for the noon rally and silent prayer walk as crosses are carried through the halls of the Capitol building. We are proud to have pro-life majorities in both Houses and in the legislative leadership. Come to show them your support for their pro-life work.

Sincerely, for Life

Wanda Franz, Ph.D., President
