Wanda Franz, Ph.D.
WVFL President

Dear Friends,

West Virginians for Life will hold the annual State Convention on October 31, 2015 at Trinity Assembly of God in Fairmont, WV. The doors will open at 9:00 a.m. for registration and the event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The theme this year is “We are a Voice for the Voiceless.” We are offering a special Day Camp for Teens at this year’s event. Teens for Life groups from around the state have committed to coming. Child care is available for children 11 years and under with advanced registration. We invite you to come for education and inspiration.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Priscilla Coleman, Ph.D. She is a professor of Human Development and Family Studies at Bowling Green State University. She received her Ph.D. here at West Virginia University, and she has gone on to become the most prolific researcher on the after-effects of abortion on women and their families. She has published more peer-reviewed articles on the mental health effects of abortion than any other researcher in the world. She is currently serving on the editorial boards for five international psychology and medical journals. She is often called upon to serve as a content expert in state and civil cases involving abortion, and she has spoken at the UN and testified before the U.S. Congress. She is in demand as a speaker nationally and internationally, and she spoke at the 40 Years of Roe educational event in 2013 sponsored by West Virginians for Life.

Other speakers include Lacey Dent speaking on Planned Parenthood. In light of the recent Center for Medical Progress videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s callousness in selling baby body parts, you should know more about this abortion giant. Karen Cross, NRL Political Director, will talk about what you need to know to provide election victory for the unborn. Wanda Franz, WVFL President, will talk about the Legislative Agenda for 2016, and Mary Tillman will share important life-saving information regarding end of life issues.

Please register early to attend the convention. We encourage you to consider taking out an ad for the convention book or becoming a sponsor of the convention. Thank you for your continuing support of our pro-life work.

Sincerely, for life,

Wanda Franz, President

P.S. If you know any teens interested in a writing competition, be sure to share these Teen Essay Contest materials with them. The contest runs the entire month of October.
