Wanda Franz, Ph.D.

WANDA FRANZ, PH.D. is a developmental psychologist and professor emerita of child development in the Division of Family and Consumer Sciences at WVU in Morgantown.  She joined the WVU Right to Life Club in 1971, as a graduate student.  Dr. Franz served as President of West Virginians for Life from 1975 to 1990 and as President of National Right to Life Committee from 1991 to 2011.

Dr. Franz is founder and President of the Association for Interdisciplinary Research in Values and Social Change.  The Association sponsors a yearly meeting and regular publications for pro-life researchers.  She has published numerous articles on post-abortion syndrome and adolescents and abortion.

Dr. Franz has spoken on abortion and euthanasia across the U.S. and around the world.  She has been profiled and interviewed on numerous radio and television outlets and, for 20 years, was the host of Pro-Life Perspective, NRLC’s daily five-minute radio program.  She is married to Gunter Franz, Ph.D. and has three children and eleven grandchildren.  She currently serves as President of West Virginians for Life.
