WOMEN’S RIGHT TO KNOW ACT

Women have a right to know the evidence – before they make a life-threatening decision.

West Virginians for Life is working to pass a bill which will reinstate informed consent laws that were, unfortunately, repealed when the Unborn Child Protection Act (HB 302) passed.  This new bill would aid mothers who meet the requirements to have an abortion by requiring that they be informed about the risks of, and alternatives to, abortion.  It would educate patients regarding the dangers of the abortion pill, along with the fact that the effects of such a chemical abortion can be reversed.  It would also ensure that information on disabilities (including support networks) is given to parents when they are told that their unborn child has special needs.

We, the undersigned, support a law to ensure that women are given evidence about the risks of abortion before they are given access to it.
