Who We Are
On January 22, 1973 the US Supreme Court released their abortion decisions of Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton. Following these decisions concerned citizens of West Virginia banded together to find ways to counter these decisions. In 1975 West Virginians for Life (WVFL) was formed and became an affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee.
WVFL’s primary purpose is to educate through the presentation of detailed and factual information about fetal development, alternatives to abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, and related issues, upon which individuals and the general public may make informed decisions.
Members of WVFL come from many different social, economic, racial, religious, and political backgrounds, and are bound together by a common dedication to the protection of all human life as described in our Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
